We can fine tune our present, nitpick our past, and dream away our future all in an effort to have everything go perfectly. Whether it is a perfectly presented meal that is disrupted as soon as your fork sticks the landing, or the perfectly made dinner that is gone minutes, perfect has existed, can exist, and will exist in the future. It also always is.
The Infinite is perfect, beyond imagination. And we will never grasp it, know it, or hold on to it forever. Yet we can be aware that it is real. Because in that one perfect bite, that one perfect weekend, we felt it.
Faith is the knowledge that these “tastes” of the Infinite will continue to show up in our lives. It teases us and incites a flirty smirk of promise, while giving way to precious moments of perfection that keep us standing upright.
Through good humor and love, we flow through the black, muddy muck that also accompanies this life. During these times, be aware of the hand that weaves through us, which holds us a part of a greater work of art (the greatest work of art). For in order to highlight beauty, you must create shadow. It is the interplay that turns the gears of the universe. It is this whole composition that is true perfection. So sit back, and enjoy the ride.
Gratitudes
So grateful for my family and for the means to stay connected over long distances.
